A well-planned and ambitious outing is rewarding and fun.
Here are some tips to ensure your outing is nothing but smooth-sailing and enjoyable:
Plan, plan, plan - What’s that saying? “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” ... Do some research on what exactly you want your outing to look like. Where do you want to go? Once you’ve figured that out, you can figure out all the secondary things like how long it will take to get there? What is the most scenic route? Driving or public transport? Are there places you want to stop along the way? etc etc.
Get up early - Did you know by 8:00 AM, the day is already a third over? Don’t sleep your trip away! Get an early start on your outing to make the most out of it.
Don’t be afraid of long drives - It can seem strenuous to do outings that involve long driving hours but you don’t have to do it all in one go - you can take turns driving with friends/family members. Plus, there’s that waterfall you’ve wanted to check out all year and that hidden beach you’ve heard so much about, taking scenic rest stops is a good way to break up the long ride.
Dress for success - There is no bad weather, only bad clothing. Make sure you know what the weather’s going to be like so you can dress accordingly.
Recruit friends and family - Get your friends and family in on the outing action and make a day out of it.
