Yes. TDS on RD is deducted as per the income tax guidelines under Section 194A w.e.f. June 1, 2015.
Yes, TDS is applicable on cash withdrawals w.e.f. September 1, 2019 in case the cash withdrawal exceeds the defined threshold limit as mentioned under the law. The TDS provision will be applicable even if you do not have any taxable income in that financial year. However, certain changes w.r.t. the rate of the said TDS have been made in Section 194N w.e.f. July 1, 2020.
Yes, you can claim credit for the amount of tax deducted at source on cash withdrawal(s) at the time of filing ITR on the basis of quarterly TDS certificates, which will be sent to you via e-mail or courier.
If PAN is not available, then TDS will be deducted at the penal rate of 20% on cash withdrawals exceeding Rs. 20 Lakhs or Rs. 1 Crore (as applicable). If you have any further questions on this, please visit your nearest AU Bank branch.
